The Technical Support Manager is responsible for leading all Improvement Engineers. This role includes a significant team management component as well as a strong project management focus and technical knowledge. It is crucial to achieve the maximum potential of machines, making this position highly relevant. Additionally, training a multidisciplinary team in the equipment and processes involved is essential, as is maintaining an updated record of all changes made during project execution.
The Technical Support Manager will provide guidance to electrical, mechanical and automation engineers & technicians throughout all stages of project development. This position is highly visible and requires a leadership style with regular presence in the areas of responsibility.
O que terás de fazer- Continuously explore the possible machine improvements to increase performance, reduce scrap and downtime of the machines;
- People management responsibilities;
- Document all improvement opportunities and roll out all this information to the management;
- Define and scope along with the Improvement Engineers all the improvement projects with a clear identification of stakeholders and deliverables;
- Define and track the KPIs of all the improvement projects;
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to all stakeholders to inform about the strategy, adjustments, and progress of all projects;
- Guide all necessary initiatives to get the projects back on track when needed;
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner;
- Review all projects budget based on scope of work and resources requirements and provide the fix cost and capex plan for all forecasted projects;
- Review and provide guidance to all engineers during the risk analysis process, ensuring that all mitigation actions are defined and monitored for every project;
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
- Manage a detailed project schedule and work plan for all improvement projects of the department;
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques and standards throughout entire project execution;
- Assess project performance to identify opportunities for improvement;
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation;
- Participation in Lean activities;
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure the seamless execution of projects;
- Represent the Local Operations Development Team in all training tasks outside the country, if required;
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to reduce process and business variations;
- Prepare project presentations for management team when needed;
- Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables;
- In the absence of the local manager has the right to make decisions and to take the necessary steps to ensure the continuity of production;
- Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given;
- Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines;
- Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system;
- Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position;
O que deves garantir- Bachelor’s degree: Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or relevant area;
- 5-6 years of work experience in Improvement Processes (machines);
- 2-3 years of work experience in Project Management;
- Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies and best practices;
- Good communication skills, both written and oral in English Level: B2 – Intermediate level;
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Have strong teamwork abilities and communication skills;
- Be able to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical);
- Knowledge of AutoCad, Inventor or Solidworks;
- Be able to share knowledge onto other team members;
- Shown Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- SixSigma certifications, is a plus;
- Knowledge on mechanical measuring tools and processes.
